4,100 square feet addition, 4480 square feet of renovation
Working with an existing building on a tight footprint, we reconfigured the facility and added a 2000 square feet of new space as well as a new parking area and courtyard. Due to the constraints of the existing construction material, we had to utilize existing openings, a design constraint that drove the layout in many ways.
The goal was a seamless transition from existing to new building elements. Each new volume has a modern interpretation of a traditional portal to complement the Territorial style existing station.
We kept the existing concrete floor, exposing the aggregate and polishing the surface along with pops of bright color for a unique aesthetic.
